Todd Michel
I'm proud to be participating in the 3rd Annual ALS 100 Hole Challenge in memory of my father, Jeff Michel, who bravely fought ALS for three years before passing in June 2016. My dad was diagnosed in 2013, and while the disease slowly took so much from him, the strength and love of our family—and especially the tireless dedication of my mother, Lynn, his wife of 48 years—allowed us to preserve precious quality time together throughout his illness.
During those difficult years, we were also uplifted by the support of organizations and products that made a real difference. Team Gleason provided essential communication tools through Tobii Dynavox devices, which allowed us to remain connected with my dad when his ability to speak was taken away. And when nutrition became a challenge, we found hope—literally—in a product called Liquid Hope from Functional Formularies, which offered a healthy, nourishing solution for his feeding tube.
ALS is a devastating disease that affects not only those diagnosed but every loved one who walks the path with them. I'm honored to be part of a growing and resilient ALS community—one that refuses to give up, continues to innovate, and remains hopeful for a cure. Every hole I play is a tribute to my dad's courage, my mom's devotion, and the collective strength of all families impacted by ALS.
