On June 18th, Alex Litt, Cory Sullivan, and friends who have been impacted by ALS embarked on an extraordinary endeavor: to play 100 holes of golf in a single day, to raise awareness for ALS and to support research to beat this disease once and for all! Cory’s father, John, passed away from ALS in 2009. It was a nagging pain in his right hip he would get while playing golf that led him to see a doctor that ultimately led to an ALS diagnosis. He passed away just a short 7-months later.
A decade later, in 2019, ALS struck the lives of the two friends again. Alex Litt’s father, Marc, was diagnosed with ALS. Marc was a renowned cardiologist who spent over 30 years helping members of the Jacksonville community. The last round of golf Marc played, he walked with hiking poles to help with balance as his body was deteriorating from ALS, he is now confined to a wheelchair.
