Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

Cory and TJ are playing in memory of their father, John Sullivan, who fought a brief but fierce battle against ALS from December 2008 until July 31st 2009. As a former D1 basketball player and standout baseball player growing up, it was shocking to see how rapidly this cruel disease turned his once fearless body against him as spent most of his final six months confined to a wheelchair and needing physical assistance for even the most basic of day to day life’s activities. The tenacity and courage he brought to his fight to find a cure as well as tell his countless friends and family members that he loved them was something we admire to this day. Having both become fathers ourselves recently, this year’s ALS100 holds a special meaning for us at we come up on the 15th anniversary of his death. Thank you for your support of this effort to make sure that one day soon will be the first that an ALS diagnosis also comes along with a treatment plan. Cory co-founded this movement in 2023 at their shared home club of Onion Creek in Austin, TX during their time living there before both moved back to the Northeast in the summer of 2025.

We’ve also both spent a combined 14 years volunteering at Experience Camps, one of our beneficiary organizations that helps children navigate the grief journey that comes along with losing a parent. That incredible group has helped us both immensely to learn to process our own grief in ways that have allowed us to grow as husbands, friends, and now, fathers.
