We Need YOUR Help to Stop ALS!!!
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes muscle weakness, paralysis, and untimely, respiratory failure. There is no cure and no effective treatment. This is why it is so urgent to raise awareness and funds.
ALS is not incurable, it is underfunded!
I am Madeline Kennedy, a member of the Worthington Community, and I have been battling ALS since 2012. As I am now at the six year mark, I know my time is running short. I never thought I would live long enough to participate in the 2019 fundraiser. Please read my story at www.ConquerALS.com. I am hopeful to make an impact in awareness and in funding research in the time I have left. I cannot do this without your help.
Hurricane Irma prevented a golf event in 2018, but did not stop your incredible generosity. We surpassed our goal by $12,000!!!
Following the devastation of Hurricane Irma, our course has just reopened in May 2018. Our committee eagerly anticipates a full field for our 5th annual fundraiser on January 26, 2019. For those unable to join us in January, just use our convenient online donation link to support ALS research.
2019 Beneficiaries
All proceeds from our event will go to ALS research. This year the money raised will again be split between two research endeavors. The ALS Therapy Development Institute works in the laboratory to develop compounds in search of a treatment or a cure for ALS. Mass General runs targeted clinical trials that allow drugs/treatments to be tested on ALS patients. These trials would NOT happen without private funding. I have donated my own blood and tissue samples to each of these research centers. Both approaches are essential to finding a cure.
Help us change the future! You can help fund a cure through a sponsorship or donation to our event. Please help this most worthy cause by making a one-time or a monthly donation.
