Working together to end familial ALS
June (Elizabeth June Van Saun Snyder) has been described by many as a ray of sunshine, a light shining in the lives of every person she met. An animal lover, June never met a homeless animal that she didn’t want to adopt. She was an accomplished horse-rider, teacher and dog trainer who ran her own business from home. June’s husband, son and two daughters were her priorities, although her horse and Springer Spaniels came in a close second.
June’s first symptoms of ALS appeared in October 2017, she was diagnosed a few months later, and taken way too early from us on January 30, 2019 at the age of 51. As the disease progressed, June took every new challenge in stride and made a joke about it. She kept an incredibly positive attitude determined to smile and laugh about what she was going through even when her frustration brought her to tears.
June’s family and many friends will continue to feel the loss of her sunshiny presence in our lives, but in the spirit of June we are also determined to turn this loss into something positive. Please join us in the fight to end ALS. All donations go directly to the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) toward research.
Thank you for helping us honor June!
