About Bryan Meyer
Bryan is extremely thankful that you are taking the time to review this email and is hopeful you find it in your heart to contribute to his war against ALS! Bryan met Lou Gehrig in January of 2020. He didn’t get the diagnosis however until 9 months later. Most everyone who is diagnosed is told that the average lifespan after diagnosis is 3-5 years. Since his diagnosis Bryan has lost 40 lbs of muscle. Many of you know how fit Bryan was, 2 Ironmans and dozens of other races! ALS has taken him down to skin and bones...and a brain...it will continue to get worse but Bryan has chosen not to dwell in the downward spiral but to try to live his best life everyday. For many this is devastating due to their relatively young age or family duties still at hand. Bryan sees himself as very lucky. His parents are both healthy and living well. His sister and her husband who both are Seattle Police officers are strong, have a great family and although they’ve dealt with unbelievable chaos they still are are helping to protect Seattle’s citizens. Bryan’s wife, Vicki, and two daughters, Annika and Hanna, are remarkably caring, thoughtful and diligent.
Bryan feels like he’s filled his bucket of life and although ALS will take away many future memories, he has plenty of phenomenal ones in his head already. He feels extremely lucky that he was able to forge a career with Essex Property Trust that has not only provided a financial pie for his family but has allowed him to meet and befriend all of you tremendous folks!
It is his mission to leverage your relationship to help support the massive research needed to make progress toward slowing and ultimately stopping ALS. Due to the rarity of the disease it is vastly underfunded compared to other more prominent ones. Your help through participating in this event or sending a donation will be immensely meaningful.
"I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU IN THE SUN!"
