Charity Night

This year, your Lady Scots are dedicating their Charity Night to help fight ALS.  We have chosen to support the ALS Therapy Development Institute, to help fund ALS research.  Our team has been affected by this horrible disease, so we want to be part of the solution!  Please help us reach our goal, and truly make a difference in ALS research!

We are honoring two amazing women.

Diana Buckroyd

Diana graduated from Highland Park in 1986. She and her husband Trent have been married for 25 years and have three children. Keaton is a sophomore at UT, Parker is graduating this year and heading to The University of Georgia next fall and Davis is a freshman. Diana is the Vice President of Finance and Operations for Lone Star Furnishings. In her spare time, she can be found on a soccer or lacrosse field cheering on her kids. Diana was diagnosed with ALS in the fall of 2023 and truly appreciates all the love and support she’s received from friends, family, and the Highland Park community.

Go Scots!

Helen "Petie" Barry Hewett

The Lady Scots are proud to honor these incredible women.  Please donate what you can to help us End ALS!

What is ALS?

Every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a progressive and fatal neurodegenerative disease. ALS causes muscle weakness, difficulty breathing and swallowing, and paralysis. It can affect anyone, anywhere. Currently, there is no effective treatment or cure. ALS TDI believes ALS is not an incurable disease; it is an underfunded one.

About the ALS Therapy Development Institute:

The ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) and its scientists actively discover and develop treatments for ALS. Based in Watertown, Massachusetts, ALS TDI is the world’s first and largest nonprofit biotech focused 100 percent on ALS research. Led by people with ALS and drug development experts, it understands the urgent need to slow and stop this disease. Learn more at www.als.net.
