Jungle Jim has been a staple in the Nascar community. Jim has been working behind the scenes for several race shops.

He started his Nascar career with Bobby Labonte Racing in 1989. He spent 8 years with them as a transport driver, gas man and mechanic. Highlights of his time there included a Busch Grand National Championship with Bobby Labonte in 1991!

Jim went on to work for Joe Gibbs Racing serving in the same positions from 1997 until 2006. He was part of the Tony Stewart Winston Cup Rooking of the Year team in 1999. Also working with other drivers, like Denny Hamlin, Jason Leffler, and J.J. Yeley.
Jim went on to be the full-time Transport Driver for Red Bull Racing during 2006 - 2011. And then on to Furniture Row Racing for the Monster Energy #78 car during 2012 - 2014.
From 2015 to 2022, Jim finished his Nascar career at the top team, Hendrick Motorsports, as Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon's Transport Driver.

Sadly, ALS forced Jim into early retirement, but the Nascar Community hasn't forgotten Jim! The team at Hendrick Motorsports honored Jim with his name on the #24 car where the driver's name usually goes! What an honor!

Jim, his wife Jaana, and twin girls, Alexis and Brianna, are all now very involved with Racing for ALS. Including, Jim's Race, 2 days of Time Trial or HPDE fun on November 12-13, 2022 to raise money for the Racing for ALS.
