In November 2022, I faced an unexpected diagnosis: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). It was a shock, especially after being athletic and healthy my entire life and reaching my peak fitness by completing Ironman Wisconsin in 2021, just one year before my diagnosis. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to paralysis of all voluntary muscles with the typical life expectancy being 3-5 years post diagnosis (thankfully my disease process is slow!). There is no cure for ALS and it can strike anyone at any time, turning lives upside down in an instant.

Since my diagnosis, I have committed myself to raising awareness and funds for ALS research, ensuring that no one has to face this challenge alone. I've successfully completed several fundraising events, including:

- A multi-day, long-distance bike ride from Madison to Minneapolis

- The New York City Marathon

- The Twin Cities Marathon (10 Mile event)

But my journey doesn't stop here. I aspire to tackle more challenges, with my current goal of participating in the Tri-State Trek, a two-day cycling event dedicated solely to fighting ALS. This meaningful journey is not just about me—it's about raising awareness and support for everyone impacted by this disease.

You can join me in this battle against ALS. Your generous donations will go directly to the ALS Therapy Development Institute for research into more effective treatments and a cure. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to many.

Every contribution counts, no matter how small. Please consider making a donation today and help turn the tide against ALS.

Together, we can fight this battle!
