Story

Hey Friends,

I hate to bug you, but I’m going to.  My dear friend Bryan Wayne Galentine was diagnosed with ALS about two years ago.    I’ve known Bryan for over twenty years.  Besides being a gifted songwriter and all-around great guy, Bryan will always be an athlete in my mind.  Writing sessions with Bryan back in the day usually happened concurrent with the two of us throwing a baseball back and forth.  Bryan was a pretty serious baseball and football player back in the day.  His very essence to me has always been that of someone who loved sports and played sports.  In the time since he was diagnosed with ALS I’ve watched my friend first default to using a cane, and now a wheelchair.  I’ve never seen the man show an ounce of self- pity, but I have been proud to see him fight against this awful disease with dignity and resolve.

I wasn’t planning on running the Nashville Rock and Roll Marathon this year.  I’m crazy busy, I have nagging Achilles and IT-band issues, I’m out of shape, and feeling my age, but a few weeks ago, my friend asked if “any runners in Nashville might wanna raise $$$ for ALS research?”  There was NO WAY I could NOT run at least the Half-Marathon on behalf of my friend, his wife and their two sons.    NO donation is too small.  I’m blessed to have a lot of friends and know a LOT of people.  Whatever you can afford to give is totally cool, very much appreciated, and very much a Karma-thing.   Thanks in advance, if I know my friends, I know I’ll probably be overwhelmed by your generosity.

Thanks and God Bless

Sean
