Running for Mom: Race to End ALS

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

On Sunday, March 16th, I am honored to run as part of Team ALS Therapy Development Institute in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon. This race holds deep meaning for me as I run in memory of my mom, Varsha, who passed away from bulbar ALS at the age of 59 on March 13, 2021.

Watching someone you love face the devastating realities of ALS is an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. ALS is a relentless disease that strips away the ability to speak, move, and even breathe, all while leaving the mind intact. My mom faced this with remarkable courage. She was one of the most selfless and compassionate people I’ve ever known. Her kindness and unwavering strength continue to inspire me every day. She always put others before herself, and her generosity touched everyone she met.

Running this race is not only a personal challenge that reflects my love of running but also a tribute to her incredible legacy. I’m determined to raise awareness and funds for critical ALS research to improve treatments and, one day, find a cure. Your support would mean the world to me and to everyone fighting this cruel disease. Thank you in advance for any amount in contributions.
