COREY'S EAST COAST CRUSADERS
Our nephew and friend, Corey Reich, was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig's disease) at the age of 21 years old in 2007 while a junior at Middlebury College. Every minute of everyday Corey lives with the devastating effects of ALS without allowing ALS to define him or diminish his positive attitude or love of life. Corey continues to coach the multi championship Piedmont High School Tennis Teams (both men's and women's); root for his favorite sports teams (Golden State Warriors and University of Arizona); participate in weekly trivia; give wheelchair rides to his awesome almost 2 year old nephew Coco, complete on line crossword puzzles, spelling bees and wordle at mind boggling speed; sing the lyrics to any song ( he is already coaching Coco on that talent); make the best restaurant recommendations to anyone anywhere and to seemingly know the answer to any question - his memory and fund of knowledge are incredible. Most importantly, Corey always brings his contagious smile, charisma and warmth to each and every room he enters.Corey is a leader in fundraising and raising awareness for ALS and ALS-TDI. He was a pivotal and founding member in 2009 of Young Faces of ALS which challenged the perception that ALS was a disease that only affected the elderly.Corey and his amazing family, Wendy, Ted, Clare, Andrew, Coco and Jenn abide by his mantra, "life is too short to be anything but happy".Corey's "can do personality" towards life serves as an inspiration for all. He is just awesome.Through our association with ALS-TDI and Corey, we have been privileged to meet other extraordinary people who have been affected by ALS. We run for them and Corey. We run to raise awareness but most importantly to raise the needed funds to support ALS-TDI whose researchers and employees work tirelessly to find drugs that will halt the devastating effects of ALS and stop this disease.
On Sunday, November 2nd, we're proud to be running as part of Team ALS TDI for the upcoming TCS New York City Marathon. We will be running 26.2 miles on behalf of the The ALS Therapy Development Institute , an Official Charity Partner. Your donations fuel our continuous efforts to advance promising drugs and help END ALS. Please help us by making a donation through our page. The process is fast, easy and secure.
Please donate, please share and we thank you.
