Story

My Best Friend, My Hero, My Dad

Devastation, terror, and fear don't come close to describing the feelings that surrounded my family on September 10, 2018 - the day my Dad was diagnosed with ALS. How on earth were we going to get through this? How could I watch my Dad, my best friend through life, the strongest man I would ever know, lose the ability to walk, eat, talk, and move entirely? My Dad lived through the terrors of this disease so severe it is impossible for most people to comprehend. Yet, as primary caregivers, we learned quickly that this disease is nearly impossible to manage, and there is no understanding of what challenges the next day will bring.

My Dad brought a light to every room he walked in with his laugh, and it was absolutely devastating to watch ALS take that from him. I promised my Dad on his very last day I would fight ALS for him, since he would not be here to fight it himself. So, I am running, training, and fighting to get one step closer to a cure for ALS. Please join me in this fight to Tackle ALS for Ter!
