February 26, 1947 - June 21, 2021

Bob was diagnosed with Bulbar form of ALS in November 2020. After seven months of battling this disease, Bob passed away on June 21, 2021.

Bob Germani was a dedicated father, husband, brother, son, friend and trusted advisor to many people. He was always willing to help others and spend time guiding them through all of life’s challenges and triumphs. Bob always picked up the phone to lend a kind, thoughtful ear, and offer wise, loving, advice.

One of Bob’s most cherished legacies was spending his childhood growing up on the East End of Monroe, surrounded by all of his Italian relatives. He loved to tell stories about his childhood. In high school, Bob was the star quarterback at Monroe Catholic Central, proudly wearing his #12 jersey, which forever lived on as his favorite number. He loved to pull out the newspaper clippings from the Monroe newspaper, highlighting his speed and incredible agility on the football field. Above all else, one of the most meaningful components of his football days, was the time spent with his Uncle [Frank] “Cheecho” Castellese as his coach, on and off the field. He treasured this relationship dearly. In fact, during his last two days alive with us, Bob courageously battled his physical incapacity, got into the passenger seat of his car, and drove to Uncle Cheecho’s house to say his final goodbye. With a weak hand, Bob drew football plays from decades ago, on his white board, as he was unable to speak by this point. The incredible love and unbreakable bond between a nephew and his uncle made for one of the most precious last moments in Bob’s life. He needed to say goodbye to one of the most important people in his life, before he went home to be with the Lord. And he didn’t let ALS stop him from doing so.

Bob was a Graduate of the University of Detroit, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Accounting and subsequently earned the accreditation of CPA. After college, he attended Law School at the University of Florida. For over 35 years, Bob ran a private law practice with over 500 clients, each of whom he valued tremendously.

Bob loved playing football in the backyard with his three Grandchildren Michael, Ben and Ali. He loved to cook, listen to Elvis Presley and teach himself how to do things around his house and yard, often learning everything online and flawlessly executing major projects single-handedly. Anything Bob put his mind to, he accomplished.

In his last few weeks with us, Bob returned home to Michigan to be near his family. He passed away shortly after arriving and has been laid to rest in his hometown of Monroe, near his Castellese and Germani family.

Bob is survived by his children Lisa and Ross, his wife Georgia, his ex-wife Terry, his grandchildren, three siblings Loretta, Denise and Gerard, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

He leaves an indelible imprint on the lives he touched with his beautiful, giving heart.

In his honor, we ask that you help us to find a cure for this disease.

With Love and Gratitude,

Bob’s Family
