 I am doing this walk to support ALSTDI in honor of my mother, Bonnie Highberger, who is bravely battling this disease.
Anyone who has met my mom knows she has spent her life giving... to her family, the church, friends, or anyone in need. She has baked for bake sales, chauffeured kids to ball games and neighbors to church. Anyone who has been to her house has never left hungry or thirsty, she would offer anything in the house to make sure of it!

Once this disease darkened our door, everything changed. She was dealt a double whammy with a diagnosis of ALS/Dementia, which affects more than just her body. She's a fighter though and if you ask, she'll tell you that "she's tough". The disease may be stripping her muscles of their strength, but in her heart she is determined and strong.

We are supporting ALSTDI in the research to find a cure and prevention of this devastating disease.
